So much of the world is shaped by the musings of people looking for a way to make money. Some of the rest is shaped by those who wish only to control what lies outside of themselves. Still more of the remaining people wish only to find peace for their lives and those of their families. A handful think, live, work for and cultivate a garden with only one crop.
PEACE
Economies are run by those things in the shortest supply and the largest demand. What does that say about this one crop?
Hi Clauds,
Very poignant thought and question, I must admit.
When I think of PEACE, I imagine Harmony and Oneness. By the same token, our world is comprised of opposing ends and the entire spectrum in between:
– Night and Day
– Summer and Winter
– etc…
Harmony is about having all our seasons. Harmony is about having a night and day.
In my mind, the crop should be HARMONY. We have many ANTI-PEACE practitioners. We need to increase the number of PEACE practitioners to arrive at HARMONY.
George Bernard Shaw once said:
“The reasonable man adapts himself to the conditions that surround him… The unreasonable man adapts surrounding conditions to himself… All progress depends on the unreasonable man.”
This I full heartedly believe in. As human race, I think we are programmed to always drive towards progress. Hence, the inevitable dissension of opinion and approach. I do believe that we HUMANS possess the capacity to manage those notions under a decorum of HARMONY.
I think of the many rights movements around the world, whether they relate to child labor, voting, or equality. These are all good things (many would agree) and yet it took “unreasonableness” to set things in motion to right those wrongs.
How do you ultimately balance the larger equation knowing that there will be an active area of chaos or two?
Meena Rose, Came by to visit your blog and let you know you’re on the right track. Your work carries the promise to be exceptional. And you couldn’t have picked a better group with which to hone your skills at Poetic Asides. We’re a very supportive group and we have fun. Be yourself and let your muse loose. I’ll be sure to make it a point to read your work.
You’ve got a great start on your blog.
Walt,
Thank you for stopping by. Thank you for your encouraging words. Poetic Asides is awesome. There is so much conversation, connection and support. Yet, on the other hand, this greatness becomes overwhelming for the newcomer to understand when to but into a conversation.
Thankfully for me, Marie keeps encouraging me to post.

Hi Meena …. Mhmmm little confused as the above posts are from October 2009… although that was a lovely year and will make me three years younger … I suppose the good news is that I can be the or one of the first to comment on this new blog… It is as I’ve said in your posting of March 31st… a clean, organized, site with a look about it that says “I plan to accomplish what I have stated.” Good for you!
All my best
pearl
Hi Pearl,
2009 is when I began my journey. What you see are comments from that era. In fits and starts, as it were, I have kept moving and growing in the craft. Perhaps the Mayans were right about the transitory nature of 2012. So here I am, 3 years after I wrote my first poem and was bold enough to blog about it, recommitting to the journey and the continual unfoldment.
Cheers,
Meena
